About this jobThe Nuclear Mechanical Engineer will work within a multi-disciplined team to develop, specify, and request engineering modifications to support extreme environmental event mitigation at the Nuclear Site.
Will also follow the development of the engineering modifications to validate that the original requirements are met.
This will include, but is not limited to, Document Management, configuration control, engineering input to the development of Operating and Maintenance Manuals, establishing Equipment IDs, providing input to the Preventive Maintenance (PM) technical basis, and establishing Model Work Orders.

Duties
Qualifications:
Able to perform engineering analysis and calculation preparation (piping hydraulic analysis) to support and size equipment for proposed strategies.
Able to perform engineering services associated with institutional controls related to new equipment.
Able to assist in the generation of licensing submittal documentation relating to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Mitigation Strategies Orders.
Ability to work in a team environment and utilize strong communication skills.
Ability to seek out subject matter experts within the site in order to understand processes and accomplish required tasks.
Familiarity with Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) Primary Systems, Structures, and Components
Experience with the Development of Hydraulic Flow Models using Woods Modeling software.
Experience with the Development of Modification packages in Nuclear Power Plants
