Sr Financial Analyst ExO Inventory (10601)

The External Operations (EXO) organization has the responsibility of managing turnkey and tolling goods produced at Third Party Manufacturers (TPMs) on a global scale.  It currently manages 40% of Coty's inventory with staffs located in Ashford, Chartres, Granollers, New York, Sanford, Toronto, and Geneva.  In FY11 it segregated EXO-managed inventory from the North American plants. Over the course of the next two years it will work to consolidate from a global basis both NA and European responsibilities by relocation to Geneva and implementing SAP.          
The person in this position needs to have a level of experience and education that will allow them to manage current inventory, variance analysis, and management reporting requirements and to meet the monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements of the EXO group as well as streamline ongoing processes and activities.  This person will serve as the key liaison between finance, EXO planning, technical packaging, central coding, NA costing, and NA inventory groups to ensure proper inventory controls, MUV analysis, accuracy, BOMs, classifications, and costing at TPM locations.  This individual will help develop the financial groundwork for this new global organization related to inventory control and variance analysis.
* FUNCTIONS:
 
* Analyze inventory transactions related to the TPM locations
* Identify problem areas and develop action plans to determine root cause and resolution.  Report any findings to the EXO organization
* Work with the TPD, costing, and coding departments to ensure BOM accuracy
* Work with the TPMs and planning to develop and enforce timely and accurate component receipt and production reporting processes
* Assist the NA Inventory team with annual TPM inventory validations and analyze physical inventory results
* Work with the planning department to ensure proper inventory movements between TPMs
* Regular financial analysis on inventory and MUV variances
* Develop a monthly scrap reporting process at TPMs
* Support month-end close activities and prepare journal entries
* Handle special projects as assigned with quick response
* Ensure implementation of action plans to enhance improvements  
 
KNOWLEDGE
* Understanding of financial principles related to the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements
* Knowledge of reporting systems and processes
* Deep understanding of inventory transactions and the correlation of the processes between the different systems
* Budget management knowledge

EDUCATIONANDREQUIREMENTS
 
* Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
* Three-Five years of experience as well as good communication skills
* One-Three years in Inventory disciplines and variance analysis
* Strong computer and system skills.  Proficiency in Excel is not optional, it is required.
* Attention to detail, accuracy, process-oriented and organized
