Production Supervisor

Job Purpose Statement:
 
The Supervisor Production reports directly to the Manager Production. The Supervisor Production is responsible for leading and overseeing production and scheduling activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of labor, materials and assets. The Supervisor Production is also responsible for developing and improving the production shift-team to achieve departmental and organizational goals, specifically the production-based Key Performance Indicators (KPI). This position will help in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure that the teams are focused on continuous improvement within their departments. A Supervisor Production must ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, accuracy, and efficiency within our Grooves Culture.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
*To lead and provide direction ensuring compliance in all Nestlé systems and programs, including GMP, Food Safety, SOP-Ts, HACCP, QMS, and Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE). This will require training development, and coaching of employees.
*Demonstrate the ability to lead within a Shared Leadership Model
*Lead and manage a shift of 20 to 30 team members (depending on Business Unit)
*Overseeing manufacturing goals and ensuring compliance consistent with company objectives. Be a Change Champion that lead change initiatives through continuous improvement efforts with NCE methodologies.
*Ensure focused improvement tools are effectively utilized in all problem solving situations.
*Deliver production schedule within area of responsibility within budget and on time managing labor cost and ensuring labor standards are upheld.
*Review and report daily achievement of targets for operation review meetings.
*Drive results including production reliability, labor management, materials flow control, reduction of material loss
*Champion key GPS initiatives (similar to TPM - Total Productive Maintenance)
*Understand and lead the Seven Step Root-Cause Analysis process
*Ensure that procedures, policies, and processes are in place and followed at all times
*Ensure that production areas are fully staffed and a training plan is in place
*Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment as well as a Grooves based culture that is implemented and reinforced
*Ensure that Safety, Quality, and Grooves Culture are understood by your Team Leaders and Team Members
*Model exemplary safe working behaviors and hold all other employees to the same standard.
*Ensure expectations are clear and concise; ensure that personnel are held accountable for performance results
*Develop your team members in technical and interpersonal skills to meet present and future needs
*Maintain good employee relations and communicate relevant issues in a timely manner
*Complete team leader and team member performance reviews and follow-up items as needed
*Facilitate team meetings (functional groups, taskforces, pre- and post-shift meetings)
*Model Ownership and drive ownership to all levels in your areas of responsibility
*Other duties to be assigned by the Manager Production as needed
 
 
 
 
 
  
Position Requirements:
*Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as time management and presentation skills
*Ability to implement and execute KPI''s and best practices across the production department and among Operations Centers
*Ability to set and manage guidelines for SOP''s in Process, Safety, Quality and Sanitation teams
*Ability to think and communicate strategically and conceptually at all levels of the organization
*Must possess high energy level and ability to achieve results through motivating others
*Computer literate - Microsoft Office knowledge
*Willingness to work nights, weekend, holidays as scheduled
*Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervision / management level responsibility (Food Industry, Consumer Products, Dairy, or Automotive preferred)
*Minimum of 1 year of experience in Continuous Improvement Environment (Lean Manufacturing or TPM preferred)
*Bachelor''s degree (Engineering, Business Management, Food Science, or Org. Leadership/Supervision preferred)
