ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide strong leadership and coaching on an ongoing basis.
* Initiate and develop short and long-term operational plans.
* Network and consult with corporate resources and facilities staff to ensure low-cost efficiencies and high service levels are consistently maintained.
* Prepare department budget through the use of various financial reports and corporate resources in the Finance area. Develop strategic and tactical plans to operate within an approved cost structure.
* Ensure consistency and compliance with departmental and company policies.
* Provide leadership and support to staff in creating and promoting a positive work environment in support of QVC Difference values.
* Be a multi-functional resource for all aspects of the operation. Incorporate cross-training of staff to ensure flexibility of workforce.
* Partner with HR to develop, design and evaluate developmental plans for staff. Provide input for succession planning via MPP, IDP and PEDP processes.
* Develop goals and objectives with staff. Monitor and assess performance on a regular basis through regular 1:1 meetings and on time performance evaluations (PEDP's).
* Ensure consistency and timely completion of all administrative functions including performance appraisals, corrective actions, injury reports and PAN's.
* Conduct regularly scheduled roundtable meetings, 2 per month, as per program , inclusive of all schedules/shifts.
* Actively and consistently support company safety programs and practices
* Develop employee recognition programs within department.
* Assist Human Resources in recruiting, interviewing and selecting high-quality exempt and non-exempt staff.
* Effectively communicate with General Manager and site staff.
* Exemplify strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Performs other related duties as assigned by general manager.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Must possess a solid working knowledge of PCs, word processing and spreadsheet packages. (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Excellent organizational, problem solving, and supervisory skills.
* Demonstrated initiative is necessary." />

Description
Under the direction of the site General Manager, full responsibility exists for managing the tactical and strategic operation of the department. Develop and coach their team of exempt and non-exempt employees in meeting departmental goals and objectives. This includes goals and objectives related to costs, cycle time, and quality. Costs and cycle time are effectively controlled through the economical utilization of personnel, materials and equipment. Quality goals are achieved through effectively executing the department's standard operating procedures, processes, and methods. Manage the site in the absence of the General Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
* Undergraduate degree in business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience: Eight to ten years of management experience in a high volume distribution center or related environment
