Job Details:
Support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Administers life support care and transport to patients in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by physician. Performs a variety of skills related to acute and non-acute settings in ground and/or air transport. Responds to medical emergencies in a 911 setting and protects life and administers cardiac and trauma support when needed. Administers initial treatment at emergency scene, assesses patient response and makes adjustments as needed. Gathers and analyzes information and uses reason when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult customer situations and maintains confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience:One year EMT-Intermediate experience preferred.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:Certification in the State ofVirginiaas an EMT-Intermediate required. National certification as an Intermediate preferred. AHA BLS-HCP, ACLS and EVOC required. PALS, PHTLS or BTLS and Haz Mat required within one year of hire date.
Other Minimum Qualifications:Must maintain continuing education hours to meet re-certification status as required by State and National standards. Good driving record required.
