Position Overview:
The successful candidate will effectively ensure the success of international military students in an immersive English Language training environment by following military good order and discipline. Candidates will interact with a variety of international military students, senior professional staff, international and DOD liaisons. The Candidate will interact with staff at all levels and deal professionally with other staff members and the government customer. The ideal candidate will knowledgeable about international military culture, motivational training strategies, leadership skills and be a self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision and guidance, but also as a member of a larger team.
The Candidate will collaborates with school leadership to ensure compliance with training schedule, to include Air Force physical fitness standards and English language immersion coursework goals. The Candidate is responsible for student accountability, assisting students in achieving program success, identifying barriers to success and tactfully developing solutions in coordination with the Course Instructors and international military liaisons. The Candidate will direct student cohort activities to include schedule, lesson attendance, promoting student time in the language lab and the library, and with field trips for cultural immersion.
Monitors and evaluates training programs, assesses results, and implements enhancements as needed. Ideally involves comprehensive knowledge of international military students, English language immersion program, cultural awareness, motivational techniques for military students, and tactful and adept leadership skills, as well as the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments. Keeps abreast of training methods and follows best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 6 years experience in a related role. Additional training and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated knowledge of government best business practices.
- Experience such as platoon Sgt, drill instructor or equivalent preferred. Experience with international military preferred. Experience with English Language immersion program preferred. Excellent communication skills. Proven leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask and deliver quality products within specified timelines.
Desired Qualifications:
USAF or other DOD Drill Instructor experience
- Sgt Major, CSM experience
- AETC, DLIELC and similar experieince
