Retail Sales Product Counselor

The Counselor is responsible for selling to and counseling with consumers and retail customers by seeking out and understanding consumer needs and then recommending Scotts products to fill those needs. The Counselor proactively approaches consumers in stores to understand their needs, offer assistance and demonstrate Scotts products. This position will require the merchandising of Scotts products by restocking shelves, racks, displays; cleaning and facing product; repairing or removing damaged items; re-labeling grass seed and other products may occasionally need to move product and help create displays to ensure Scotts products are on display and in saleable condition where consumers can find them and purchase them. Counselors Ability to provide demonstrations, counseling sessions and promotional events as needed. May be responsible to service multiple locations throughout assigned territory.
Job Responsiblities:

Understand consumers needs and recommend Scotts products to fill their needs. Answer consumers questions about lawn and garden care

Demonstrate how all Scotts products will meet the consumers needs
*
Provide product recommendations and product knowledge to both consumers and retail customer associates
*
Display and distribute sales related materials as needed (e.g. rebate coupons, point of purchase (POP) materials, etc.)
*
Downstocking products when needed
*
Provide consumer counseling sessions including lawn and garden educational clinics, promotional events and in-aisle consumer education as needed.
*
Complete all required on-line reports in a timely and accurate manner. (e.g. time sheets, surveys etc.)

Our Expectation of our Tellers:
Tellers introduce customers to new products and services, and generate leads for other members of the sales team to close. Every teller has her/his own scorecard with goals. An excellent teller processes between 20-25 customer transactions each hour with no mistakes through patience, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures. Basic Qualifications: 1+ years experience interacting with people or customers
Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated skill in use of computers. Demonstrated ability to achieve individual and team goals. Positive approach in interactions with customers and team members. Reliable attendance. Good communication skills. Ability to work a schedule that includes working weekends and some holidays.
Normal work schedules typically fall between 7AM - 7PM.
