Cloud Services Engineer is a high impact position, helping to drive operational and technical excellence across a suite of Cloud initiatives. This position requires an experienced professional that thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Cloud Services Engineer is responsible for day-to-day operations associated with our Cloud Services, including provisioning/deployment, management, monitoring, maintenance, reporting, and troubleshooting of all production software, services, and systems.

Unlike other cloud / IaaS companies, our customers are typically "brick and mortar" companies with real business needs for storage and compute, which means our products must be rock solid. We offer a full service Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider and provide standard cloud services (compute, storage, hybrid cloud, transport, backup, disaster recovery, etc.), but specializes in custom solutions for enterprises. Responsibilities
Manage and deliver Service Level Agreements
Ensure continued regulatory compliance in government and commercial sectors
Manage operational and technical aspects of cloud partner vendor relationships in a technology-diverse environment
Implement and document best-practice standard operating procedures across internal and external operating groups
Assist with management of COGS related to service delivery, and work to identify costs savings opportunities through vendor selection and system efficiencies
Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate risks associated with ongoing operations and new / planned releases
Assist with preventative maintenance and help to drive service improvements through feedback / recommendations to R&D and Product Management
Participate in on-call rotation for 24x7 coverage of production infrastructure; respond as needed to actionable alerts
Basic Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people in technical and non-technical roles
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with co-workers across all departments and external partners/vendors/customers
A self-starter with good analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to execute in a dynamic, mission critical environment
Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction
Strong follow-through, focused and detailed oriented
Thorough understanding of IaaS engineering and Cloud application lifecycle management, automation methodologies, and business data modeling used in a mission-critical environment
Experience with installation, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of virtualization technology and hypervisors such as VMware, Xen, KVM, etc.
Desired Qualifications
Extensive experience in virtualization, cloud computing, large scale internet application architectures, clustering and high availability, storage and networking architectures
Experience with policy-based systems management such as Active Directory Group Policy, puppet, chef, cfengine, etc.
Working knowledge of Ethernet switching and IP routing including performance, security, and troubleshooting
Experience with management of Windows and Linux servers including automated deployment, scripting, and security and performance tuning
Experience with administration activities on relational databases such as MSSQL and MySQL
Experience with installation, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VMware virtualization technology and hypervisor
Experience with installation, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of 3PAR and/or EMC storage systems including protocols such as CIFS, NFS, and iSCSI
Experience with the use and implementation of monitoring and management frameworks, specifically for cloud environments
