Master Planner

**MASTER PLANNER**





**JOB SUMMARY:**



The Master Planner will set the overall level of manufacturing output (production plan) and other activities to best satisfy the current planned levels of sales (sales plan and/or forecasts), while meeting business objectives of safety, quality, on time delivery, competitive customer lead times, profitability and inventory. The Master Planner will ensure the Value Stream team meets customer expectations by building a daily plan based on the customer and business requirements. Support daily management activities to ensure commitments are achieved, communicate order status to customer service and project management teams are supported.





**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**




+ Align production with actual demand, through the merging of tactical and strategic planning methods across any number of organizational functions (Oliver Wight tools).

+ Analyzing customer forecasts and the development of a sales plan, production plan, inventory plan, customer lead time (backlog) plan, new product development plan, strategic initiative plan and resulting financial plan.

+ Capacity Planning identify critical constraints and develop strategies with the Value Stream team to eliminate/reduce.

+ Determine scheduling priorities for RTV product.

+ Manage and track products on-hold and returns by ensuring follow-up and follow-through.

+ Streamline and improve internal processes through the use of lean tools and standardizations.

+ Prepare project status reports and maintain/update and schedule/coordinate project meetings - for management, internal and external customers and/or clients.

+ Interact between sales, marketing, program management, engineering, customers and operations by communicating project priorities. Confers with project personnel to resolve problems.




+ Support and practices Lean initiatives in day to day production processes. Understand and utilize Heijunka, KanBan, safety stock, and lead-time reduction.

+ Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by Management as deemed appropriate.





**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**




+ Decision-making capabilities.

+ Knowledge of medical device industry.

+ Ability to create and manage milestone schedules.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project or equivalent software programs.

+ Knowledge of Value Stream mapping and S&OP Planning

+ Able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

+ Able to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects.

+ Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

+ Able to coordinate and lead small groups.

+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

+ Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

+ Proven knowledge of "root cause" problems solving skills.

+ Able to analyze and proactively look for issues that may delay projects.





**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:**




+ Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year University;

+ 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment;

+ Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Experience working with customers, sales, marketing or engineering is preferred.
