Sourcing Operations Manager

Partnering with product development and sales, the sourcing operations manager will act as the key contact person for the seasonal salesman sample order management process. Act as PLM administrator to the business, troubleshooting problems and providing support to the business, LO teams and factory partners. Responsible for ensuring all US, Canada and Rockport subsidiary product is compliant and packed and labeled in accordance with our requirements. Partner with customer service and subsidiaries to ensure all customer-specific packaging and labeling requirements are met. Work with marketing to source and develop all new packaging requirements.



Responsibilities

Salesman Sample Management -

o Manage the seasonal salesman sample process from order placement to distribution.

o Consolidate global SMS demand from all regions (US/CAN, APAC and EMEA) and place SMS orders to meet key milestone delivery dates on the product development calendar.

o Ensure all SI's are update, monitor and track all shipments, and provide a weekly status report.

o Responsible for managing and coordinating all communication between regions, markets, PD, sales team and the factories. Ensure all SMS data flows properly to GT Nexus and customs compliance team to ensure all documentation is accurate.

o Trouble shoot GTN invoice issues. At end of season, responsible for approving excess materials and shoes, as well as their disposition.


As PLM administrator -

o act as liaison point person between all PLM applications and the business users.

o Provide support to internal customers, as well as LO support teams and factories.

o Work through JIRA application to manage issues and PLM enhancements.

o Key responsibilities include managing the data interface from PLM to FMS, validating and submitting articles to FMS and troubleshooting as necessary.

o Responsible for creating raw materials vendors, overseeing factory allocation and ensuring vendor master data feeds to all downstream systems including GT Nexus.


Global Packaging Management -

o Responsible for managing all Rockport Group brand packaging, i.e., boxes, tissues, inserts, J-hooks, etc.

o Work with marketing and creative teams to develop and execute all packaging needs with the vendors, from concept through approval.

o Responsible for selecting vendors and negotiating prices and providing seasonal forecasts.

o Manage/Coordinate all new packaging implementation plans with the factories. Work closely with marketing and product to ensure development of all new packaging falls within the seasonal development calendar in order to meet new product intro milestones.

o Responsible for resolving all packaging QC issues and responsible for updating and maintaining both PLM and physical packaging libraries.

o Responsible for auditing packaging section of cost sheets to ensure packaging and costs are correct.

o Point person with Avery Dennison to ensure all data, i.e., shoe images, is available for UPC box end labels. Ensure correct photos are available in the AD system from PLM.

o Partner with master data team to ensure data is accurate. Troubleshoot discrepancies on the error report.

o Work with AD to coordinate all new factory onboarding and training.


Packaging and label compliance.

o Ensure all US, Canada and subsidiary orders are compliant with all regulations for orders shipped from the factory. This includes US and Canada direct shipments.

o Partner with accounts services to ensure all customer special requirements for packing or labeling is communicated to the factory. Help accounts services keep factories updated of changes.

o Partner with customs compliance and engineering to ensure all inner shoe stamping is compliant with customs, FTC, global regulations (ie., EU pictograms, dual language), and Rockport group guidelines.

o Responsible for creating and maintaining Rockport shoe stamping compliance manual and communicate with LO's and factories.

o Responsible for maintaining standard L&P Manual.

Education / Credentials o BA degree or equivalent experience Minimum Years Experience

5 -8 year's experience


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

o Expert level MS Office skills, especially Excel, required.

o Experience with PTC or Enovia PLM application and SAP.

o Superior customer service skills, service-oriented mind set with a focus on continuous improvement.

o Excellent problem-solving skills, loves to determine root cause and seek resolution

o Strong planning, organizing, coordinating and follow-through skills

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have ability to communicate effectively across various management levels, as well as with oversees offices and vendors, and across various cultural lines.

o Comfortable leading and conducting meetings, as well as managing projects.

o Capable of building solid relationships and collaborating with people in a variety of functions including Product, Marketing, Global Operations, Customer Service and Logistics.

o Ability to balance a number of priorities successfully within tight timelines

o Must be self-motivated and goal- oriented team player working to achieve both departmental and corporate goals.

o Understanding of global organizations

o Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems with little supervision, as well as the ability to work in a team

o Must be detail-oriented highly organized and have strong execution skills
