This position is responsible for designing equipment and developing processes for the receipt storage and distribution of bulk manufacturing chemicals. The position will use the principles and technology of chemistry, physics, mathematics, engineering, and related physical and natural sciences. The position will support the facility's management to determine the most effective means to use capital, equipment, energy, material, and other assets to manufacture a product.
. Design equipment to control the receipt, movement, storage, and distribution of bulk chemicals associated with the advanced manufacturing process.
. Support the planning of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel to improve the efficiency of operations.
. Use computer technology to optimize all phases of research and production.
. Designs, plans layout, and oversees workers engaged in constructing, controlling and improving equipment to carry out chemical feed gas delivery and other industrial processes on a commercial scale.
. Analyzes operating procedures, and equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost.
. Test and measure throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables, such as temperature, density, specific gravity and pressure.
. Familiar with Federal, NY State and local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects in their respective field.
. Knowledgeable of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental concerns.
. Ensures QA/QC of own work and work of project team that individual is responsible for.
. Confers with facility's management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
. Applies principles of chemistry and engineering to solve problems involving the production or use of chemicals.
. Requires working at project site in Malta, NY
. May require work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
. May require dealing with hazardous chemicals.
