. Registration and designation as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.

Job Description: This position is responsible for researching, developing, planning and designing mechanical and electromechanical products, and systems. Responsible for the review of design documents including technical specifications.
Responsibilities/Duties:
. Oversees and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
. May involve but are not limited to mechanical systems including, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material handling systems, elevators and escalators, boilers, chillers, cooling-towers and air handling unit, semiconductor production equipment and robotics used in manufacturing.
. Researches and analyzes data, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
. Designs products or systems, such as instruments, controls, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
. Plans and oversees engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
. Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
. May design products and systems to interface machines, hardware and software.
. May use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and REVIT for design data processing and for developing alternative designs.
. May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
. Be familiar with Federal, NY State and local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects in their respective field.
. Has knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and environmental concerns.
. Develops familiarity with regulations governing the implementation and operations of these systems.
. Ensures QA/QC of own work and work of project team that individual is responsible for.
. Requires working at project site in Malta, NY.
