Purpose:


LifeWorks NW Quality Management Coordinator is responsible for training staff in documentation compliance, systems and workflows, writing trainings, auditing charts, providing continuous quality improvement interventions and feedback for clinical staff and investigating HIPAA and Fraud, Waste and Abuse reports. This position reports to the Director of Quality Management.


HOURS:This is a part-time position, work schedule days and times can be flexible and some work from home opportunities available


Essential Responsibilities:



+ Trains LWNW staff on: Clinical Documentation, Billing and Coding, Feedback Informed Treatment, ACORN, Avatar, Chart Auditing, HIPAA, and Medicaid Fraud, Waste, Abuse. Occasionally fills in for other trainers as well.


+ Provides research, conducts reviews/investigations, and writes recommendations regarding quality complaints, compliance issues and HIPAA violations.


+ Drafts and updates policies and procedures pertinent to the Quality Management program.


+ Organizes and facilitates internal and external audits.


+ Facilitates quality improvement workgroups using various methods such as PDSA cycles, Root Cause Analysis, cause and effect diagrams, flowcharts, and change concepts. Follows all office policies and procedures either written or verbal.


+ Attends internal and external meetings as required.


+ Interacts with LWNW billing department to ensure proper documentation for service delivery.


+ Trouble shoots EHR issues with clinical staff and identifies and reports EHR issues to IT.


+ Creates and tests new forms and functions in the EHR and implements and trains staff.


+ Participates in professional development activities, maintains professional affiliations and promotes staff interactions, harmony and teamwork.


+ Meets performance standards for productivity, accuracy and quality of work, customer service, teamwork, attendance and punctuality as well as projects/objectives as defined in the Performance Review.


+ Participates in regular individual and team meetings with supervisor. Attends occasional informational and clinical meetings which may include all staff and team meetings, consultation with other staff and required trainings.


+ Understands the requirements of clinical documentation and its workflow and procedures in the electronic health record system and is able to run reports as needed.


+ Checks e-mail/voice mail daily/throughout the day when working responding to contacts within appropriate timeframes


+ Continually works to increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency.



Qualifications:



+ Master's degree in an approved mental health related field (must meet QMHP criteria as defined by state law); CADC preferred.


+ Requires clinical experiences with psychiatric and substance use disorders.


+ 1-3 years in similar role/department within the behavioral health field preferred.


+ Ability to examine clinical documentation for accuracy, compliance and completeness.


+ Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA rules and regulations that protect Personal Health Information (PHI).


+ Ability to work effectively with consumers and co-workers.


+ Ability to communicate clearly.


+ A basic knowledge of Oregon Administrative Rules.


+ Good computer skills including a functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to master use of proprietary software including our electronic health record system Avatar.


+ Demonstrates effective communication skills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.


+ Ability to perform essential functions of job without creating a direct threat to the safety of self or others.
