Test Engineer I

Description: Execute test cases to validate new and updated electronic devices, specifically Meters, Protective Relays and Trip Units.
Essential Functions:
?Participates on testing projects at all levels of validation
?Collaborate with test and development teams to create testing plans and isolate issues after implementation
?Develop and execute test cases and test data to validate new product development
?Identify, analyze and document defects and test results
?Participate in test, documentation and defect peer reviews
?Execute and update automated testing scripts
?Configure hardware test systems
?Maintain a safe working environment
Position Criteria:
?General knowledge of electrical power systems
?Experience with Windows, Linux and Microsoft Office including SQL Server
?Individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented and able to overcome obstacles.
Preferred Qualifications:
?2 years of automation and testing experience with electrical devices
?Experience with Relay and Metering test sets such as Omicron, Megger or Doble power system simulators
?Virtualization system experience
?Experience testing in large, complex electrical system environments
?Knowledge of communication protocols such as BACnet/IP, BACnet/WS, TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, DNP 3.0, IEC 61850 and Profibus
?Experience in using defect tracking systems and code repository
Education: BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering
