Manager of Skilled Trade Labor Operations
Excellent full time opportunity exits at our corporate office in Strongsville Ohio for an experienced manufacturing labor manager. We want a motivated professional to assist our Operations Director to oversee and drive our skilled labor division. The perfect candidate would have a general exposure to many manufacturing processes to include a general knowledge of skilled positions and manufacturing machinery and production processes. We seek a corporate professional who has the manufacturing floor in their blood and can relate to both the hourly workforce and the executives of our client companies.
AFIMAC is a full-service crisis response company. We have served industrial, commercial, and institutional customers across the country for over 28 years. We have assisted our clients throughout North America in planning for and responding to natural disasters, labor strikes, industrial accidents and other types of business disruptions. Through AFIMAC's umbrella of services, we provide our clients a one-stop contingency resource, including strike security, mobile catering and logistics, and a contingent workforce of both skilled and unskilled personnel experienced in working under difficult conditions.
Requirements:
This position reports to the Operations Director and main responsibility is drilling down into clients needs through audits, meetings and interpretation of
job descriptions to properly analyze positions, recruit and mobilize skilled labor personnel to client companies throughout the U.S. and Canada. In addition this position will be responsible for the following:
Conducting pre-project labor audits at client locations nationwide to determine workforce needed, analyze positions & equipment, and build a relationship with client management team.
Create contingency labor plans for client projects.
Assist our team with recruiting & qualifying candidates for upcoming projects. Phone screens, skill assessments.
Monitor training records and personnel data base
Training, developing and leading a group of skilled labor individuals
Actively motivate and develop the team he/she leads
Report generation and writing
Effectively communicate goals, tasks, etc. to a diverse team and follow up
Requirements
4-6 years of prior experience in manufacturing management
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Adhere to and preach safe work practices
Able to "speak the language" of manufacturing operations.
Interact professionally with client representatives
Knowledge of project management including planning, organizing, delegating, evaluating & time management.
Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Able to travel nationwide as needed 20% - 30%.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven experience in directing, developing and motivating staff
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing groups and major projects.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
High comfort level working in a diverse environment
Must be able to work in the Cleveland office on a daily basis when not traveling
Able to work odd hours including nights and weekends when projects require.
This position requires an individual who can multi-task, handle stress, be a leader, and put in the time to properly manage the job. In exchange we offer a starting salary of $45,000 to $50,000.
