Description: We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Dayton area client. The idea candidates will possess a BSME and at least 5 years of product design/development experience. We are seeking applicants with experience with rubber anti-vibration products, CATIA or similar 3D modeling software, and automotive industry (preferred.) Experience with light weight materials, especially plastics, is a plus. Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, forging, and extrusion is also helpful. Primary responsibility is to design and develop anti-vibration products for automotive applications and provide engineering support to customers. This is a full time position working on first shift. Pay rate range is $55,000 to $70,000 depending on experience.
Requirements: Responsibilities include:
? Work with customer engineering contacts to establish product requirements
? Create 3D models and 2D drawings to meet customer specs
? Facilitate the manufacture and validation of prototypes
? Work with production facility to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost
? Work with suppliers to develop cost and weight reduction ideas
? Provide reports and technical information to meet internal and customer requirements.
