RN - OR
Graduate of a two, three or four year Registered Nurse Program.
Experience in acute care facility preferred. Minimum one year OR staff nurse experience preferred. Other experience and education may be considered.
1. Licensed RN, licensed to practice in Delaware. CNOR preferred.
2. Evidence of:
a) Effective communications
b) Self motivation
c) Problem solving skills
3. ACLS course preferred.
4. CNOR preferred.
The Registered Nurse works as a team member under the general direction of the Charge Nurse and Director, performing a variety of nursing procedures with a patient focused approach. While functioning within the guidelines of the Delaware State Nurse Practice Act, the nurse will demonstrate knowledge in the current concepts of his/her field, performing at a level of competence that allows independent thought and action. Applies critical thinking to patient care management, assuring appropriate care based on patient needs, using age specific assessment, communications, and knowledge of physical and mental capabilities. Adheres to AORN standards.
employment Variables: Shift rotation required, working days, nights, weekends and holidays. Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours. Required to take on call per FTE and Surgical Services policy. Required to be on call one holiday per year.
