Job Title:             Assembly                                                                                                                          
Department:       Production
Reports To:         Assembly Lead, Production Supervisor
 
Summary of Position: Utilizes knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform a variety of tasks including reading and understanding of work orders, assembling, testing, and inspecting light fixtures and individual components, and maintaining standards of quality, production, and safety. Works as part of a cell assembly team to ensure that daily production, quality, and safety goals are met.Must be able to work any shift (Days, Nights), including weekends.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Safety:
*
Responsible for following all safety policies and procedures, complying with JSA's, wearing proper PPE and complying with the production attire policy, and assuring that the work cell has safe equipment and no risk is placed on their coworkers or themselves.
*
Responsible forBBS and near miss procedures, andfor following Universal Waste procedures and MSDS: spill response, spill prevention.*
Any safety issue identified should be reported immediately to production lead, supervisor or manager.
*
General cleaning of shop areas and personal 5S/industrial housekeeping responsibility.
Production:
*
Assembles, inspects, and tests fixtures and pans via an assembly line or workbench process depending on the company's daily needs, to product, quality, and production specifications.
*
Assembles, wire, inspects, and packages according to specifications, maintaining the work speed standards of the line and team.
*
Assemble fixture mock-ups and samples according to instructions &/or specifications.
*
Submits Kaizen cards (employee suggestions) for production improvements at a rate of one per cell per month.
Coordination:
*
Enters into the computer complete, accurate work order information.
*
Notifies the production lead of all problems with product or quality.
*
Arrives on time at the start of their shift, after breaks, and lunch, complying with the relevant attendance policy. Reports any absences to the Production Lead or Supervisor.
*
Ensures all shift timecard information is complete and accurate before leaving.
*
Accepts other duties as assigned, including flexing between work cells as needed.

Job Requirements
 
Availability
*
Ability to work any scheduled shift.
*
Ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime.
Education:
*
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Experience:
*
Minimum of 6 months, solid, positive work experience. Minimum of 2 months of production/assembly line experience, preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*
Must have physical dexterity and endurance in order to pick up pans, fixtures, lamps, sheet metal. small wires and parts, and assemble a pan and fixture with power and non-power tools, soldering experience a plus.
*
Able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
*
Ability to communicate problems in product or quality in to the Lead or Production Supervisor clearly and concisely.
*
Ability to learn and understand the basics of electrical wiring in order to perform all pan wiring.
*
Complete knowledge of Quality Control issues related to all production assembly areas.
*
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repetitively within a shift.
*
Able to bend, stoop, reach forward, and stand for up to 12 hours, engage in repetitive motion, and tolerate exposure to varying temperatures.
*
Able to see fine details, see colors, and distinguish between colors.
*
MS Office experience a plus.
