Initially an entry level position that will grow after several months w/experience. Role is responsible for reviewing information submitted by organizations wishing to book 'Group' business at a hotel and defining who from 200+ sales persons nationally is the right person to respond. This is done by reviewing information about who the group is, the size of the group, where they are from and what type of event they are planning. That information is compared to flowcharts which are used as a guide to assign the business to the most appropriate Sales resource. Our role ends there; the responsibility to respond to propose/turn-down the business is that of our customers and not of the RFP Coordinator. We simply process the RFP.
There will be little direct customer interaction for the first several months while the skill-set grows. Eventually the role will involve interaction w/customers to gauge satisfaction w/this service, host short training/workshops sessions (typically 3 to 4 times per month @ 35 to 45 min per session), and to participate in demonstrations of this service to potential customers to help us grow.
The role is an empowered roll that requires a positive thinker with a calm demeanor who can manage several different RFP's at once, that may/may not be similar, and process them accurately in a timely manner. While the accuracy of work performed by the RFP Coordinator is audited frequently to ensure accuracy, the role is not micro-managed. The person in this role will need to be comfortable in learning multiple, but simple, 'Account & Contact' solutions and be comfortable jumping from one to the other all day long. Must type very well.
Previous experience in Hotel Group Sales is very helpful, though not required.
