About This Position
In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Staff Educator assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, documents and coordinates educational and training programs for the Marian Medical Center staff. Supervises and evaluates effectiveness of services provided by other support and professional staff. Possesses initiative and the ability to work independently. Ability to effectively assess and prioritize educational needs. Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, medical concepts, anatomy and physiology. Ability to promote standards of nursing practice by using them as a framework for teaching, serves as a role model for staff.
Selection Criteria
A minimum of three years clinical experience. Education/in-service experience required. Bachelor''s degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Ability to effectively teach classes to medical center staff of all classifications. Demonstrates knowledge of adult teaching principles and their application. Ability to work with a team to plan, develop and implement programs to increase knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Registered Nurse. BLS and ACLS provider certification required. BLS and ACLS instructor certification preferred. PALS provider and instructor certification preferred.
