PR Manager, Brand Marketing, Dallas Burson-Marsteller seeks a Manager with 6-10 years experience in its Brand Marketing Practice to work on consumer lifestyle clients who will help build and grow the business in the Texas market. Solid previous experience working in consumer/lifestyle public relations ' retail, packaged good, travel & tourism, food & beverage, luxury brands, entertainment etc. Prior agency experience (5 years ideal) is required. Candidates must have experience in product launches, promotions, partnerships. Ideal candidates will have at least six years of experience in public relations - this must include some experience in a PR agency setting - possess an in-depth understanding of communications and PR issues, excellent media relations skills, proven client service skills, experience in event management, including direct work with venues and third-party vendors to coordinate and execute media events, excellent verbal and written communication skills, great organizational and time-management skills, be self-motivated with a desire to take on project management roles, and have a passion for media relations. Responsibilities include writing, media relations, client correspondence, strategic planning support, research and being an active contributor to an account team. Must be deadline- and results- oriented, organized self-starter with strong writing skills, attention to detail, and experience with independent client interface. Essential Responsibilities: ' Develop and foster a relationship with the Client and external audiences. ' Research, design, develop, implement, and manage routine client projects. ' Oversee day-to-day planning of major events. ' Handle media inquiries. ' Review materials (e.g. pitch letters, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters) prepared by Associates or Client Executives. ' Develop materials on complex issues (e.g. Q&A, speeches, collateral materials). ' Develop, pitch and place positive stories by and about the Client in business, trade and consumer media, when appropriate. ' Maintain steady and positive Client presence in trade media through releases, contact and responsiveness to inquiries/requests. ' Maintain clear and consistent communication between the Client and account team. ' Partner with Client and other communications firms (i.e. ad agencies) to develop and complete communications plan. ' Contribute to program development for the Client and new business proposals. Must see that these are grounded in the principles of Perception Management. ' Handles account administration duties such as billing and activity reports. ' The Manager may be responsible for giving day-to-day direction to an Associate, a Client Executive or a Client Staff Assistant. ' The Manager oversees work for the Client with junior account handlers, internal service departments, external vendors, news media, and other Ad/PR agencies. ' Possession of a Bachelor's degree in communications/journalism/PR preferred. Ideal candidates will have 6-10 years PR experience, with an agency background; a proven track record leading successful public relations media campaigns, crisis communication, product launches and other programs; demonstrated success in managing client relationships; enthusiasm for new business development and strong people management skills.
