Job Title: Director, Business Development
Job Responsibilities: Summary
This position provides direct business development, and sales and marketing support for the Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology & Data Analytics and Global Market Access business units of UBC, now referred to as Scientific Practices ("SP"). The Director is expected to work with SP's scientific and consulting staff to present capabilities to clients, identify and qualify new business leads, maintain and manage relationships with key SP clients and accounts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
.Develop proactive client specific business development strategies and tactics.
.Successfully initiate client contacts, generate leads, and follow up on assigned leads.
.Regularly convert follow-up leads into sales through professional key account management
.Develop client specific presentations and contribute to the RFP response and proposal process
.Work closely with business development support staff to identify new market trends and formulate plans to capitalize on them that will lead to new revenue generation opportunities.
.Utilize market knowledge and industry contacts to grow SP business. This will include pursuing new product opportunities, identifying new contacts and accounts, and broadening the range of business in existing accounts.
.Work cooperatively across practice groups to provide business development and operational assistance as required to ensure that company''s revenue and profitability goals are achieved. This position does involve team selling.
.Participate in professional trade shows each year, for exhibit coverage and lead generation.
.Work alongside legal/contracting and finance staff as well as client procurement groups to contribute to the design and implementation of Master Service Agreements (MSAs), negotiate preferred provider agreements and volume pricing, and provide project-level contracting support.
Qualifications: Qualifications
.Requires substantial consultative selling experience within the Pharmaceutical Services Industry, selling into Pharma, Biotech, and Medical Device Companies.
.Demonstrated high level of sales performance in a competitive, dynamic market place.
.Pharma or Biotech experience (e.g., Product Management, Managed Care, or medical/scientific liaison) a plus.
.Consistent success in account development. Strong influencing and selling skills.
.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
.Team building and Team selling skills.
Education and Experience
Advanced degree in a health sciences discipline or an advanced business degree preferred.
Language Skills
Competent in written and spoken English.
