Managing a small team, this role will instill a continuous improvement and quality mindset within IT teams, and integrate with strategic partners so they can collectively deliver on-time, on-budget and quality software products to support our business operations. The incumbent will drive changes across teams to achieve organizational objectives. This role is responsible for implementing, and moving to higher levels of maturity in CMMI, the international standard for software development. This role will also have oversight for benchmarking and KPI's, metrics, SOX compliance and standards.
The Manager will define and implement CMMI processes / standards. Responsible for ensuring IT achieves progressively higher level of maturity in CMMI. Support assigned technology team members on processes, quality and tools, and perform compliance audits in these areas. Conduct training on tools and processes for IT and business area employees. Working with Quality Process Improvement team, ensure alignment of organization policies and consistency with the Center for Project Excellence (CPE). Manages and ensures that all Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are communicated and adhered to by Information Technology. Maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external constituents and regulating bodies. Manages the performance of employees through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching. Act as a change agent leading assigned teams to achieve organizational objectives through tactical measures. Maintains ownership for HP Quality Center tool, including implementing tool standards, testing methodology standards, and expanding tool utilization across projects business areas. Utilizing Lean/Six Sigma techniques, create and monitor performance of metrics.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field and ten years of experience leading major development projects through the complete product development lifecycle. Five years of software engineering process design and implementation experience required. Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), demonstrated performance and knowledge of project management process and methodology is desired. Certified software quality engineer a plus. Master's degree a plus. Proven track record driving business process improvement initiatives using CMMI or related methodologies, to completion. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and training skills. Experience with HP Quality center or other testing/software development tools and testing methodology desired. Experience required in process design and implementation. Experience leading major software development projects through complete product development lifecycle including defect management and tracking.
