Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovativeSenior Principal Scientist (NBE Pharmacokineticist)to join our Biotherapeutics department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility.
As a Senior Principal Scientist (NBE Pharmacokineticist) you will propose and implement new R&D and/or technology goals and new experimental designs in the area of pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) of new biologic entities (NBE). Manage and prioritize multiple projects within the laboratory. Define, implement and communicate tactics for achieving overall R&D project goals. Plan and conduct laboratory experiments and evaluate and interpret data. Responsible for the supervision and development of scientific staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Leads in proposing and implementing new experimental designs and concepts that contribute to core group/research goals and reflect expert knowledge in PK/PD; Directs and oversees experimental design and results of junior staff; Independently proposes and oversees implementation of new areas of research
* Assumes pharmacokinetics leadership role in NBE project teams or acts as a representative on multiple project teams and contributes to overall program goals
* Independently communicates results by preparing clear technical reports, publications and oral presentations; Effectively delivers updates to senior management in context of overall project goals
* Functions as an acknowledged resource and technical leader within and outside of the department in NBE pharmacokinetics/pharmacology; Provides guidance and expertise to advance specific R&D projects or evaluates and proposes new approaches in support of the advancement of multiple R&D projects
* Demonstrates broad knowledge in field of expertise; Has the ability to interpret current literature and apply to relevant R&D projects
* Complies with all applicable regulations; Ensures that work performed in area of responsibility is conducted in a safe and compliant manner; Maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
* Provides administration within area of responsibility including: recruiting, mentoring and developing scientific staff; Provides assistance in the preparation and management of operating and capital equipment budgets, as required
Requirements:
* Ph.D. Degree (biology, physiology, pharmacology, chemistry, pharmacokinetics, pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences or related field) plus 7 years of experience in in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent experience in a relevant/equivalent field discipline
* Previous supervisory experience preferred
* Demonstrates a broad knowledge of field (pharmacology, physiology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmaceutics) plus an ability to perform significant independent research or a track record of moving compounds into preclinical development
* Appropriate level of understanding of applicable regulations
* Excellent intrapersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally at all levels of the organization
* Exceptional ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in an inter-disciplinary environment
Eligibility Requirements:
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
* Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
* Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
* Must be 18 years of age or older
