Description
The Sr Manager, Sales Training & Development, will be based in Cheshire, CT. The successful candidate would consistently lead efforts to:
* Develop new-hire and advanced training resources for field sales organization and internal commercial teams
* Conduct new-hire and ongoing training classes for Regional Account Managers (RAMs), Regional Clinical Specialists (RCSs), Case Managers (CMs), Customer Operations Representatives (CORs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and other internal Alexion staff
* Add creative value to the training team based on career experiences in sales training & leaderhship, contributing to the creation of a global learning and development Center of Excellence
* Work collaboratively with field-based trainers to coordinate delivery of Alexion’s training program for new hires in field sales organization and internal commercial teams, including the Field Mentor Program
* Coordinate and manage execution of national sales/training meetings
* Conduct field rides quarterly with members of field sales organization
* Provide in-the-field coaching to supplement efforts of RSMs
* Document observations and coaching steps via Field Contact Report
* Represent/navigate training initiatives as necessary thru medical/legal/regulatory approval process
* Work cross functionally with marketing, medical affairs, clinical, OneSource etc. to better understand market factors and develop new and revise subsequent training initiatives as needed
* Measure outcomes of training initiatives and create plans for continuous improvement
The Sr Manager, Sales Training & Development, will serve a critical need within Alexion’s US Commercial organization in developing and insuring that all training content is consistent with the latest commercial strategy and clinical developments. The Sr Manager, Sales Training & Development, will report to the Associate Director, Global Sales Training and Development.
* Minimum of 5 years sales experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
* Proven track record for delivering strong, consistent results during sales experience
* Sales training experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
* Experience in specialty injectable/infusion markets, including hospital selling experience, with hematology/oncology or orphan drug experience preferred
* Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environment as well as independently on a consistent basis
* Ability to develop strong, professional relationships
* B.A. /B.S. in business or scientific field preferred
* Approximately 30% US and International Travel
