Working under the Environmental Services Supervisor, the Environmental Services Patient Room Prep Associate cleans, disinfects and maintains patient care areas of the medical center in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition to promote a clean and healthy medical center environment for all employees, patients and guests in accordance with the mission and philosophy of St. Alexius Medical Center.Education:Completion of High School Education or equivalent. Valid driver license.Experience:Prefer experience in cleaning and disinfecting of hospital patient care area.Skills:Ability to understand and complete written and verbal instruction. Ability to measure chemicals. Ability to drive riding equipment. Interpersonal Skills:Relates will with staff, patients of all ages, and visitors. Maintains confidentiality.Physical Effort:Light - 20 lbs infrequently, 10lbs or less frequently; 2.5mph with no grade or slower speed with 10lbs or less; stands or walks 90 to 100% of the 8 hour shift; must be able to move various types of carts with loads up to 100lbs independently; must be able to work various heights; must be able to work outdoors and is exposed to weather conditions.Hours of Work:Variable work hours on day and evening shift. Weekend work is required and scheduled.Other:Works under the following conditions: Potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical and infectious environmental hazards. Must successfully complete in-house traiing on proper and effective cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas to include C-Dif, VRE, MRSA areas as well as Operating and Procedure Rooms.
