Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Controls Technician III on a --CONTRACT TYPE-- opportunity with a leading company in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
Provide second and third level troubleshooting of production equipment process issues
Serve as a SME in specific technical areas to minimize engineering production support requirements
Develop/maintain a system to keep production teams current on process, equipment and procedures
Work with support groups and production teams to coordinate and direct equipment start-up, repair, troubleshooting, and process changes
Assist engineers in setting up test rigs and/or experiments for prototype equipment.
Assist engineers in the design, troubleshooting, documentation, and implementation of new or modified production equipment.
Direct maintenance personnel in the construction, testing, installation, and debugging of equipment.
Provide project coordination of projects in conjunction with equipment engineers.
Interface with all departments, as necessary, to ensure efficient use and operation of equipment.
As needed, develop, document and deliver training packages for new or modified equipment to operations and support groups in the plant.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 year technical degree.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Read and understand Electrical and Mechanical Drawings.
Experienced in Troubleshooting and Repair of Electrical and Pneumatic controls, including the use of electrical test equipment.
Experienced in Troubleshooting and Repair of simple to minor complex mechanical devices.
Read and understand structured text and ladder logic. Demonstrate ability to work through the logic to find problems.
Computer literate and understand Microsoft windows, to locate files, save, transfer etc.
Can work independently, accustomed to using technical manuals to perform work.
Experience in identifying and resolving chronic issues would be a plus.
Willingness to be hands on to solve issues.
Comfortable with minor data analysis.

Design effective process experiments to determine and optimize important materials, process, and product variables.
Use engineering principles and data to help solve problems, improve process selects, and reduce costs
Recommend improvements to process and/or equipment and drive equipment robustness.
Lead projects and/or project sub-teams involved in process and product optimization, cost reduction, or maintenance of business activities.
Use the scientific method to drive for fundamental understanding.
Effectively communicate plans, progress and problems to all parties concerned.
Work in a cross-functional, team environment.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
AS Electrical or Controls Engineering
1-10 years experience in manufacturing environment.
Operations experience is strongly desired.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Technical Savvy
Read and understand Electrical and Mechanical Drawings.
Experienced in Troubleshooting and Repair of Electrical and Pneumatic controls, including the use of electrical test equipment.
Experienced in Troubleshooting and Repair of simple to minor complex mechanical devices.

Ability to summarize and communicate results, both written and oral
Equipment/process aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and characterize key process drivers and translate impact to manufacturing
Strong Personal and Collaborative working style
Ability to handle multiple tasks and issues effectively
Sound Decision making and prioritization skills
Good Communication skills (within team, across functions, etc.)
Availability for off-hours on-call support nights and weekends, depending on position.
Ability to work in technical projects teams and provide formal and informal leadership.
Experience with MS-office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
