Plans, interprets and implements specific speech therapy programs for individual patients and patient groups according to the practices of speech and language pathology. Completes related administrative and clerical duties as required to deliver quality patient-centered care, and meets the record-keeping requirements of the organization.MINIMUM KNOWLWGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. Knowledge of the use of appropriate modalities and techniques to assist in the diagnosis, recovery, and rehabilitation of patients with cognitive, speech, language, and other disabilities at a level normally acquired through successful completion of a Masters Degree from an accredited Speech/Language Pathology program.2. Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.3. BCLS certification required within 90 days of start date. 4. Approximately 6-12 months on the job experience necessary in order to become familiar with Hospital/department policies, practices and equipment and to attain proficiency in performance of duties. 5. Ability to utilize a variety of approaches to convey a concept and obtain a cooperative, mutually agreed upon outcome. 6. Ability to properly use equipment necessary to provide appropriate treatment modalities. 7. Approximately 6-12 months on the job experience necessary in order to become familiar with Hospital/department policies, practices and equipment and to attain proficiency in performance of duties. 8. Ability to utilize a variety of approaches to convey a concept and obtain a cooperative, mutually agreed upon outcome. 9. Ability to properly use equipment necessary to provide appropriate treatment modalities.10. Ability to consistently exercise discretion and judgment in developing and administering treatment plans. 11.Ability to provide care for patients in the following age groups: Infant - Birth to 1 year; Child - 2 to 12 years; Adolescent - 13 to 18 years; Adult - 19 to 65 years; Geriatric - over 65 years.
