Position Summary:


Provide Supplier Quality support to the Military Assembly Plant for various programs. This support will include but not be limited to working with suppliers on APQP, Sample Submission review and approval, supplier development, respond to supplier quality issues and corrective actions, perform supplier pre-award surveys for potential new suppliers and surveillance audits of current suppliers.


Responsibilities:



+ Senior Technical Expert for the area in which the individual is responsible for, stamping,castings, Machining, Plastics, Rubber, Electrical, Paint, Coatings or other area's as determined by the department manager.


+ Provide guidance and support for suppliers during the APQP and Sample Submission process for purchased parts.


+ Develop sample submission requirements, review sample submissions, provide feedback on submission compliance, and approve sample submissions for suppliers of purchased parts.


+ Respond to supplier quality issues identified on the assembly line or from customer feedback.


+ Work with suppliers in responding to quality issues (containment, sorting, certify stock, etc.).


+ Issue Corrective Action Reports (CAR) to suppliers and review containment, root-cause, corrective actions to obtain closure of issue.


+ Perform supplier pre-award surveys for potential new suppliers and surveillance audits of current suppliers.


+ Review part prints and computer models to assess completeness and accuracy.


+ Attend meetings, generate and communicate reports concerning areas of concern and risk.


+ Issue MRB and/or MUP when required to support assembly.


+ Will be expected to be on the road at least 2 days a week visiting suppliers and getting suppliers into compliance


+ Review salvage tables containing non-conforming parts and assess responsibility for defect(s).


+ May be able to work remotely


+ Perform additional duties as assigned to support supplier quality initiatives.



Knowledge, Skills and Experience:



+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or technical degree required


+ ASQ and Lean Six Sigma certification preferred, or Red Shainin


+ 7-15 years as an automotive SQE


+ Knowledge of ISO 9001 and TS 16949 required.


+ Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP - reviewing and correcting PPAP's


+ Heavy experience in Corrective Actions - 8D's/3x5 why's


+ PFMEA, SPC, AIAG and Control Plan.


+ FMEA's /Control Plans - APQP/MSA's/SPC/PPAP's


+ Strong proficiency in SAP, TeamCenter, SharePoint and MS Office.


+ Self-started, self-motivated to accomplish tasks with a minimum of supervision


+ Strong organizational and problem solving skills.



Physical Effort:


Light- Combination of office work and plant floor support with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and sometimes long hours. Driving distances up to 350 miles on a regular basis


Working Conditions:


This position requires a self starter, who is motivated and energetic with the ability to work alone or as part of a team environment. This position requires one to be an active member of various cross functional teams with good communication skills (written and verbal). Some travel may be required to supplier locations or other AMG sites.
