Position Description:
BAE Systems, Electronic Systems, in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking several summer interns in various technical and non-technical fields such as Electrical, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineers in addition to Environmental Safety and Health These internships are for a 3 month period (without benefits or relocation offered). Students must be registered in a 4-year university and are eligible for participation in this program after completing their Freshmen year.
Interns will have the opportunity to develop technical skills and expand their industry knowledge through hands on experience and are included in the regular daily activities within their respective functional department (i.e. staff meetings, customer meetings (as appropriate), and technical discussions that would pertain to their area of expertise).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties are based on discipline and are established under the guidelines of the hiring department. Students will explore career options while gaining exposure within their discipline.
Depending on level, the intern well be required to work on special projects with entry through moderate level complexity under direct supervision of management, which may involve the application of technical, accounting, or budgeting knowledge or similar knowledge/skills pertinent to the function involved.
Required Skills:
-˘Registered in an accredited 4-year university having completed Freshman year-˘Minimum GPA of 3.0
Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant field of specialization -˘ Ability to work well with cross-functional teams -˘ Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills -˘ Personal computer skills -˘ Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently -˘ Previous work experience not required but helpful.
