We are seeking a Utilities Manager to join our fast-paced team-focused staff in our unionized manufacturing facility.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining the plant powerhouse operations which includes steam, water, refrigeration, air, water and electrical in a fully operational state which supports our production requirements while at the same time managing cost and utility usage.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare, administer and implement long range capital projects for the utilities operation.
Manage Plant facilities operations as it relates to generation and supply of steam, RO water, soft water, refrigeration, compressed air, water and electric to ensure reliable services to Plant operations and in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Monitor utility consumption and execute best course of action in areas of equipment improvements, and engineering requirements to maintain efficient and least cost utility consumption throughout the Fremont Plant.
Utilizing NCE / TPM processes analyzes available data, plan, design and implement best value options that result in low cost/high efficiency renovation/innovation improvements to equipment and/or processes to identify cost-savings opportunities that improve efficient use of resources. This includes modification to equipment through effective internal resource use or coordination of external resources.
Has immediate responsibility for the Safety & Environmental activities performed by supervisors and employees.

Assures that Safety activities are communicated & accomplished as outlined in the plant-Ts safety program.

Assures thatactivities performed having an environmental impact are communicated and accomplished as outlined in the plant-Ts environmental program.

Assures that the supervisor involved properly investigates all injuries, incidents and accidents as they relate to safety or the environment.

Consult with the plant Safety/Environmental Management Representative as necessary to fulfill program requirements.
*
Review all accident and incident investigations with the objective of taking action to eliminate future occurrences.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
*
Five years experience
*
Experience with personal computers, Microsoft Project, Auto-Cad and blueprint reading.
*
Preferred: Management experience in the Powerhouse operations,ASME boiler code and state laws.
*
ammonia systems operation and maintenance in food processing or pharmaceutical industry.
*
Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
