Job Description Eaton Corporation''s Aerospace facility in Jackson, MI is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join the Quality Team. This position will:
Oversee the compliance, development and enforcement of the Jackson plant's 5 NADCAP audits as it pertains to continual improvement, audit compliance, and host PRI 3rd party audits.
Oversee 13 distributor audits and follow up on corrective actions from the FAA oversight audits.
Train and develop employees on subjects relating to customer requirements, quality system auditing, and quality engineering tools, as appropriate.
Be functionally responsible for designing, developing, coordinating and deploying work instructions/procedures and associated process controls for the assigned area.
Review customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements and provides technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers as needed.
Provide training and supervise others as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate customer and third party audits to include permanent root cause and corrective action when necessary.
Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
Lead or provide technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects / problem solving teams / product development teams.
Develop, set and achieve goals associated with quality system improvement that align with Jackson Quality Department goals and objectives.
Identify the quality training needs of the plant and ensure those needs are addressed.
Coordinate PRI Nadcap audits to include 3rd party assessments, internal audits, corrective actions, and process improvements.
Coordinate FAA oversight audits at 13 distributor hose shops including scheduling, onsite assessments, and corrective action follow-up.
Manage internal and distributor periodic and sample testing for PRI and Military
Manage pre-production approval process for all distributors including test samples, approval paperwork, and updates for scope letters.
Assist in FAA DMIR approval process and Nadcap opportunities at distributors.
Provide technical guidance to less experienced Quality Engineers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Criteria:
Demonstrated ability to understand Blue Prints, Specifications, and Customer Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the quality function
Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification
QMS Auditor experience and/or Certification
Experience with NADCAP
ASQ quality certification is preferred
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university required
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required
