Under direction of supervisor or senior staff and following standard practices and procedures, perform various semi-technical tasks in the quality organization. Provide support and operate equipment such as computers, word processing, graphics, and occasionally, specialized quality instruments and other equipment.
Typical duties/responsibilities for quality may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Follow established procedures to maintain and update department files such as contract data information, quality standards, drawings, technical reference files, and related quality documents.
Under direction, review processes, plans and practices for conformance to quality requirements. Prepare related materials such as preliminary reports, ketches, illustrations and drawings and submit to more experienced staff for analysis.
Perform mathematical calculations and other duties associated with ensuring product quality, integrity and effectiveness, requiring an understanding of quality practices, instruments and related equipment. Refer unusual situations or complex problems to supervisor or more experienced staff.
May occasionally provide guidance to less experienced staff.
Complexity of Tasks: Requires general understanding of techniques, practices and procedures related to specific assignment, and the ability to make decisions regarding requests, priorities, and resolution of problems. Requires communication skills to interface effectively internally and with other functional groups. Duties are defined in general terms and errors may cause delays, rework and adversely impact schedules.
High School diploma and 2 to 5 years of experience. Alternately, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
