Join Northrop Grumman Technical Services and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking a Part Time / On-Call USCENTCOM Joint Event Support Team Planner to join our team in Suffolk, VA.
This position acts in support of the Joint Event Support Team Lead (JEST Lead) to provide planning, management, liaison and coordination for assigned joint exercises/events, the joint training system, and special projects. Acts as the alternate (for the JEST lead) point of contact to the JCW Joint Exercise Branch Desk Officer and/or Event Planner for all contractor support for a given event. Responsibilities include, builds exercise planning schedules; forecasts labor and travel; helps develop an event budget; monitors all Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) progress for all assigned events; develops and maintains the team event calendar; coordinates team member assignment and deployment; supports each functional area of the team as required; capable of becoming intimately familiar with the processes within the JCW complex for providing support to the team throughout the JELC; and, assists the JEST lead in all necessary aspects to ensure successful event execution. May involve travel to countries in the USCENTCOM AOR and other overseas locations.
Applicant must be able to travel unassisted to U.S. and foreign locations. Must be able to move, carry, and operate personal computer equipment and related material.
Minimum Qualifications:To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
. Excellent and well founded, written and oral communication skills are essential
. Must be willing to travel (to include areas considered hazardous duty) to support worldwide training events
. Requires excellent interpersonal & problem solving skills and position level proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products
. B.A./ B.S. in related field and six (6) years experience in joint training and exercise planning / execution required. (Ten (10) total years exp required without a degree)
. Must be former military with a minimum of thirteen (13) years of service, with proven performance in increasingly senior leadership positions - (branch of service is immaterial)
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Top Secret level security clearance,upgradeableto TS/SCI to be selected. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Preferred Qualifications:Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
. Possession of a valid U.S. Passport is a plus.
. Group facilitation experience is highly desirable.
. Service at or in support of USCENTCOM or Joint Staff J7 Joint and Coalition Warfighting is desired.
. Extensive experience with operations centers, planning cells, and operational planning teams is preferred.
. Graduate of Joint Forces Staff College (JFSC) or School of Advance Military Studies (SAMS) or equivalent professional military education.
