Business Ops Analyst - Location flexible

This contributor within the **Data and Analytics** team will use his/her skills and talents in analytics, data science, and reporting to optimize operations here at U.S. Bank. S/he will employ data analysis to influence decisions focused on improving operational processes and fraud prevention.

+ Create and implement analytics capabilities, perform business intelligence analyses, and implement other predictive methodologies.

+ Uncover opportunities for process improvements and challenge the status quo.

+ Influence adoption of analytics and insights; turning data into decisions. Prepare cost/benefit analyses.

+ Take in general, high level business needs and develop analytics-driven solutions that may be beyond what the requestor envisioned possible.

+ Assist in the transformation from many manual, Excel-based data review processes to analytics-driven automated processes.

+ Monitor process sustainability after implementation.

+ Create analytics-based recommendations, creating visualizations of data/analytics as warranted.

+ Build strong partnerships with peers and internal partners.

+ Develop and deliver information for the front line teams, striking the balance between reporting too little and too much.

+ Assist in building a database from scratch.

**Basic Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

+ 10 or more years of experience in operations/technology project management activities

**Preferred Skills/Experience**

+ Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience in relevant field

+ Four to seven years of experience in analytics and/or data science

+ Experience with database querying languages

+ Experience with Data Warehousing and ETL processes

+ Thorough knowledge of data science

+ Strong problem solving skills.

+ Strong organizational and analytical skills

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications

+ Experience in advanced analytics and statistics

+ Experience in the creation of a SQL database, and querying and manipulation of data within it

+ Experience with Business Intelligence solutions (such as SharePoint Power BI

+ Demonstrated project management skills

+ Superior knowledge of policies, plans, procedures, products and regulatory requirements for assigned business unit

+ Ability to conduct an analysis of a business need, including scheduling meetings, planning agendas and conferring with business line leaders

+ Comprehensive understanding of project management and testing methodology and procedures

+ Ability to develop test schedules, review testing plans, track test issues and report on test results

+ Strong analytical and forecasting skills

+ Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously with limited supervision

+ Ability to work as a team leader

+ Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills

+ Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
