Assists with, and performs, a variety of laboring and tasks for a facility and/or grounds. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Performs any one or a combination of the duties listed below. 2. Moves furniture and equipment. 3. Uncrates and assembles furniture and fixtures, using bolts and screws for assembly. 4. Loads and unloads supplies and equipment. 5. Removes trash from work areas, lobbies, and washrooms. 6. Tends to lawns, shrubbery, and premises of the post office and cleans ice and snow from the sidewalks and driveways. 7. Stacks supplies in storage rooms and on shelves, and completes forms or records as required. 8. Written Exam Operates a variety of heavy duty power-driven custodial equipment. Such equipment includes floor machines, buffers and riding equipment Such as, but not limited to, sweepers, lawn mowers. Performs general cleaning duties such as stripping and refinishing floors. Cleans ceiling and walls, glass partitions, restrooms, toilets, and building fixtures which may require the use of ladders. Performs general ground-keeping tasks including cutting and trimming lawns, bushes or hedges, and cleaning sidewalks and driveways using heavy duty and/or riding equipment. Loads and unloads custodial supplies and equipment, moves furniture and equipment as required to clean.
