Since 1976,*Tomball Regional Medical Center (TRMC)*has provided quality healthcare to the communities we serve including emergency care, labor and delivery, a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), general surgery, cardiology, pulmonary medicine, acute inpatient rehabilitation, sports medicine, physical therapy, orthopedics, outpatient testing, wound care and many others. Our 150-acre campus and 350 bed hospital also features designated specialty centers: the Heart Center, the Tomball Regional Medical Center Wound and Hyperbaric Center, and Texas Sports Medicine Center.
*Tomball Regional Medical Center*is currently looking for a*Nurse Technician*for its Rehab Nursing Department. This is a full time/days position.
*Responsibilities:*
Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct individualized and goal directed care for the patient population served on the unit, accepting assignments from the nursing staff that commensurate with PCA's experience, knowledge and ability.
o Provides patient care through clinical hourly rounding, anticipating and responding to needs under the direction and supervision of the licensed nursing staff.
o Gathers data relevant to the patient's individual, age specific needs and disease process and relays information to licensed nursing staff.
o Documents appropriate and accurate data in the medical record.
o Participates in multidisciplinary approach to management of pain for the patient under the direction and supervision of the licensed staff.
o Participates in multidisciplinary approach to improve communication among caregivers for the patient under the direction and supervision of the licensed staff.
o Participates in multidisciplinary approach to improve Core Measures performance with Inpatient measures under the direction and supervision of the licensed staff.
o Participates in multidisciplinary approach to decrease hospital acquired conditions under the direction and supervision of the licensed staff.
o Participates in multidisciplinary, discharge planning under the direction and supervision of the licensed staff.
o Ensures a safe environment for the patient.
o Participates in teaching the patient and family under the direction and supervision of the licensed staff.
o Participates in continuing education and in-service training in order to maintain current knowledge/skills to perform job responsibilities.
o Performs blood sugar checks, vital signs, discontinues urinal catheters and IV's and performs simple dressing changes.
o Orders supplies and equipment in cost efficient manner.
o Processes physician orders using the computer order entry system.
o Answers the telephone and nurse call system, takes messages and directs call as needed. Acts as a receptionist for unit patients and visitors.
o Provides clerical assistance for the nursing staff, physicians, and Department Director. Maintains medical records and files in an accurate and retrievable manner.

*Qualifications:*
Minimum of 1 year healthcare experience providing support for patient care.
Technical training though an applicable program
BLS Certification
PREFERRED for Nurse Technician: Texas Nurse Aide Certification preferred
REQUIRED for Monitor Technician: EKG Rhythm Recognition Course/Certification
