Primary responsibility is to convert his or her engineering plastics experience, knowledge, insights, and analysis into sustainable, profitable IHS chemical services. Marketing IHS and himself/herself as a plastics industry expert with professionalism is essential to this role. Sr. Principal Analyst should also endeavor to build and nourish relationships with key industry contacts across the supply chain that utilize or could benefit from IHS services. Serve as primary interface with clients and, as such, play an integral role in every aspect of this relationship.
General Job Duties
*Provide an unbiased view of the past, present, and future for the major polymer markets covered, to include supply, demand and pricing.
*Market IHS products and services via direct and indirect client contact.
*Market Report Responsibilities the Global Engineering Resins market advisory service (GERR)
*Annual Analysis Responsibilities
*Price Forecasting Responsibilities for assigned resin categories.
*Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the basic IHS databases and tools for responsible polymer products
*Actively pursue and develop unique analytical approaches that provide value to IHS clients and/or potential clients, both upstream and downstream.
*Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art industry processes for specific product chain.
*Provide leadership and mentorship to junior analysts.
*Provide support for Consulting work, especially in the areas of engineering plastic resins and end-use markets.
*Work with global plastics team to ensure consistency and continuity.
Job Specific Duties:
*Provide ongoing analysis of the assigned engineering plastics markets for IHS Global Plastics consulting services
*Build and nourish relationships with key industry contacts that utilize or could benefit from IHS services.
* Actively solicit speaking opportunities and make speeches/presentations several times during the year to gain market exposure (and sell IHS services).
* Perform presentations for clients both in IHS offices and onsite as a product expert.
*Become the primary consulting interface with clients with regards to consulting services, while coordinating efforts of marketing, product development, client support, billing, and collection.
*Provide routine and unbiased written analyses for monthly and annual reports / analysis.
*Econometrics - Maintenance and modifications for product specific models.
*Supply/Demand - Maintain, update and balance long forms through entire product chains; short forms and quarterlies as needed.
*CAPS - Maintain industry production capacities based on market intelligence.

Bachelors Degree, Chemical Engineering or technical degree preferred. MBA a plus.15 years of experience in the plastics industry, with significant engineering plastics commercial experience in the area of sales, purchasing, or business management.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills
*Proficient public speaking and writing skills
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
