Takes all orders from customers and referral sources. Completes patient information form which includes data such as names of insurance company and policy holder, policy number, ordering physician s name and patient s diagnosis and pre-qualifies patient for equipment ordered. (This can be done on the patient information form or directly to the patient information screen). Telephones, writes, or faxes insurance company to verify patient s coverage and to obtain information concerning extent of benefits. Prints out all work orders and transfers work orders to person responsible for delivery. Prints Certificate of Medical Necessity and sends to physician forcompletion per HMES policy and procedure. Sets up new patient/client files. Confirms all work orders after delivery and enters serial numberswhen appropriate. Understands and complies with work rules and safety regulations. Works any shift necessary for the adequate coverage of the department and additional hours if needed. Attends all customer relations, guaranteed patient satisfaction and mandatory training programs. Greets and services all customers in retail areas. Maintains DME inventory in retail area. Maintains open and effective communications with patients/clients and referral sources. Responds to patient/client questions and problems. Set-up retail customers on rental or purchased equipment completingall appropriate HMES forms. Educates and trains patients or caregivers in proper use and care ofdelivered equipment. Measures patient/client for proper fit of prosthesis, braces, or hose andrecommends appropriate product, completing all appropriate HMES forms once training is completed. Prepares daily bank deposit from cash drawer in accordance withestablished procedures. Delivers products as needed to patient home or hospital. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. A minimum of one year experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. Basic knowledge of medical equipment and supplies is required. Prefer current certification as a prosthetics fitter.

Cross Utilized Agents report to the Station Manager and/or Station Supervisor. Cross Utilized Agents are responsible for both Customer Service and Ramp functions. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Greet and assist all customers in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner
* Provide ticketing and reservations, check luggage, issue boarding passes, re-book passengers as needed, provide accurate flight information, assist physically challenged passengers and unaccompanied minors, as well as answer general customer questions
* Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, air freight and COMAT (continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage, freight and COMAT)
* Monitor customer safety during boarding and deplaning
* Maintain safety and security of the ramp, gate and ticketing area at all times
* Marshallaircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving/departing and towed aircraft)
* Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance equipment safety checks.
* Service aircraft as needed (aircraft lavatories, potable water, window wash, de-icing and catering)
* Assist in ramp set-up and storage of equipment and baggage
* Clear and accurate communication with passengers, agents, flight crew and vendors
* Comply with all safety procedures and Station policies
* Other duties as assigned by the Station Manager and/or Station Supervisor

* Possess a valid drivers license
* Ability to lift 70 pounds
* Type 30 words per minute preferred
* Must be able to work both inside and outside in all types of weather conditions

* Must be able to successfully complete Ramp Operations and Initial Customer Service Training
