Legal Administrative Assistant


Job Description
The role has primary responsibility for supporting the PAH Legal Department and VMRD with an emphasis on coordination of the contracting process, including drafting, processing, receipt, execution, filing, retention and overall document management. The Legal Affairs Assistant will provide the interface between US VMRD and PAH Legal, and between US VMRD and external parties with whom agreements are being executed. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform a variety of functions in support of VMRD and the PAH Legal Department according to established policies and procedures: Review, and manage from draft to execution, standard contracts with external collaborators and entities such as Non-Disclosure, Consulting and Material Transfer agreements. Draft, manage, and if appropriate seek approval for the execution of recurring standard agreements utilizing corporate templates and guidelines, such as confidentiality agreements, material transfer, and basic consulting agreements. Submit executed agreements to the corporate agreement management system and send to Archives. Provide assistance to VMRD staff and external parties by answering questions on agreement drafts and policies.
Requirements
EDUCATION- Minimum of Associates Degree from an accredited college or university. Legal administrative experience desirable. Bachelor of Arts/Science degree preferred
SKILLS- Excellent written and communication skills. Strong ability to multi-task. Strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule. Fluency with the Microsoft Office software suite. Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
EXPERIENCE- Minimum of one year''s experience performing contract or administrative support duties preferably in a law firm or legal department ATTRIBUTES- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across the organization and with external parties
