Sales Associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. Sales associates have an emphasis on department and product knowledge, providing information on product features, and knowing related items to sell an entire project. Associates in this position know how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments. Sales associates maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, and ensure that it is clean, shoppable, and safe. These associates work in cooperation with their Department Supervisor, Sales Specialist(s), other associates in their department as well as other sales departments, the Inventory Management Associates, and the Front-end Associates to ensure customers'' needs are met. This includes ensuring customer satisfaction, driving sales, building sales skills and product knowledge and maintaining safety, security and integrity. A Sales Associate in the Flooring department should have product knowledge that includes, but is not limited to the following areas: Ability to explain uses of a variety of floor adhesives, knowledge of a variety of carpeting including in stock and special order, ability to explain and demonstrate ceramic tile installation including ceramic style countertops, ability to explain a variety of hard floor products and installation including hard wood/laminate/vinyl flooring and knowledge of closet products and installation. A Sales Associate in the Flooring department will also use various equipment and machinery to cut wire shelving and carpeting.

Pass the validated Selection Test
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years Customer Service experience (I.e., Call Center, etc.)
1+ years Retail, Specialty Retail, Outside Sales or Trade experience
