Lead Engineer - Ground Software & Product Architecture

**Role Summary:**

This role will develop information systems by studying operations; designing, developing and installing software ground-based solutions; support and develop software team. The role will lead building new and supporting existing critical ground systems and secure websites.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development life-cycle

+ Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions

+ Lead and help mentor multiple teams that will design, develop, release and deliver robust scalable solutions

+ Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code

+ Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards and programming

+ Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures

+ Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

+ Protect data and operations by keeping information confidential

+ Passionate about new and great technologies, and will investigate new ways of using technologies to improve operations

+ Develop and Improve Engineering Processes.

+ Implement IT systems for Engineering Improvements.

+ Audit Engineering personal on engineering processes.

+ Develop standards for engineering.

+ Participate in product realization cycle.

+ Maintain technical knowledge of all Company products.

+ Complete moderately complex tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.

+ Continual improvement of the quality management systems effectiveness. **Qualifications/Requirements:** Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), or equivalent work experience

+ A minimum of 10 years of experience designing and delivering software solution, with mission critical, scalable, 24x7 systemsEligibility Requirements:

+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. 

+ May travel, as required, to accommodate above duties **Desired Characteristics:** Desired Qualifications:

+ Experience implementing and consuming large-scale systems, databases and WEB applications

+ Experience with and functional in many different software languages, C, C++, C#/.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, Java, HTML, SQL, PHP, JavaScript

+ Fluent and functional with Microsoft Azure Cloud, Windows servers and OSs, Linux based systems, Networking, Clustering, Load Balancers and SQL Based Servers

+ Experience developing software utilizing workflow or ESB software

+ Experience with professional software engineering best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations

+ Experience working in an agile software development and release cycle environment

+ Knowledge of other software languages, Python, TCL, and others would be especially useful

+ Eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies and how to utilize those technologies

+ Either strong OOP or Functional Programing and modeling skills

+ Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project

+ Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines

+ Working knowledge of and ability to create and navigate through detailed technical standards/specifications and other technical documents.

+ Ability to work with and lead engineering teams.

+ Ability to write requirements and Statement of Work for collaboration with external contractors and customers.

+ Must be self-motivated and very creative with excellent communications and writing skills.

+ Must be able to complete moderately complex tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision.
