**Role Summary:**

This lead engineering design role focuses on developing and delivering Wind Service electrical component level designs in support of productivity, fleet reliability and new product introduction. Top priority will be technical support that allows for the successful design, procurement, assembly, and installation of electrical equipment in support of Wind Services priorities.


**Essential Responsibilities:**

As the Lead Services Electrical Engineer, you will:


+ Develop electrical component designs from concept through implementation

+ Create design documents, drawings and specs based on product and system level requirements using state of the art electrical and converter technologies for GE wind turbines

+ Support design opportunity identification, estimation, planning and execution for various improvements across the fleet to drive electrical productivity benefits in Wind Services

+ Support the creation and execution of validation plans for electrical and thermal system designs in the lab and at turbines in the field

+ Adhere to QMS and the design review process laid out by the controlled title holders

+ Support usage of PLM and P6 for design process documentation and scheduling

+ Demonstrate independent problem solving and root cause analysis skills

+ Work collaboratively across engineering fleet segments and with CTO advanced technology


**Qualifications/Requirements:**


+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college

+ Minimum of 5 years in an electrical engineering role


**Desired Characteristics:**


+ Hands-on experience with non ESS and ESS electrical systems

+ Experience in wind turbine design, testing, operation and field operations

+ Experience in full electrical components development life cycle (scoping, feasibility, execution, production establishment)

+ Operation knowledge of Wind turbine generators, including converters and cabling

+ Strong understanding of PLM processes, especially ECOs and BOM / drawing revision control

+ Working experience with global teams

+ Hands-on experience for electrical components commissioning and field issue resolution

+ Strong knowledge in electrical engineering fundamentals

+ Strong multi-tasking / proactive and open approach to conflict resolution

+ Strong analytical and learning skills

+ Strong in oral and written communication skills
