Production Planner / Scheduler

A Kforce automotive client is looking for a Production Planner / Scheduler for a long-term, renewable contract position in Bowling Green, Kentucky (KY).Essential Job Functions:
* Interfaces with suppliers and Logistics and plant floor on material issues
* Monitors pull systems through periodic audits
* Participates in investigation of premium transportation issues
* Responds to and resolves floor problems in the assigned floor area such as:
* Min/max conditions
* Standard pack discrepancies
* Packaging compliance coordination with the supplier
* Labeling
* Misuse
* DR's
* Resolves other supplier non-conformance
* Manages part buffers
* Performs record discrepancy analysis
* Analyzes productive receiving records
* Maintains all plant material records
* Manages record adjustment activity and investigates losses
* This position is for a Material Flow Coordinator or an Engineering Change Coordinating supporting the client's program
Typical Day:
* 30% of a typical day would be spent doing computer work. 80% of the computer work would be within a Material Requirements Program or MRP mainframe, software, 20% of the computer work would be within Excel (candidates must be able to open spreadsheets and run data); Macros, and pivot tables would be preferred but not required
* 20% of a typical day would be spent working on the production floor, problem solving, looking at parts on the floor, trying to understand how they'd be used
* 25% of a typical day would be spent working with suppliers
* 25% of a typical day would be spent attending conference calls to work with other client personal due on a specific engineering work order change
* Candidates will be expected to work with varying levels of management and union personal
* Candidates will be expected to have excellent problem-solving skills. 75% of the job will be problem solving
* Bachelor's degree is required
* 0 years of experience would be considered acceptable with the pairing of a Bachelor's degree preferably in Supply chain, but business would be applicable as well
* Entry level position
* Internship or work experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred
* Excellent communication skills would be required
* Problem-solving skills
* Open office work environment
* Working with 20 or so colleagues
* This is a very fast paced job that is responsible for ensuring the team has the materials needed to build the cars that are being worked on; It is highly critical that candidates are accurately measuring build materials
