job description**

A Quality Technician is needed for a leading automotive manufacturing organization. The Quality Technician is responsible for performing automotive weld quality trials. Qualified candidates must have 3+ years' of automotive quality experience, and be able to manipulate quality instruments including scanners, laser trackers, and related portable CMM machines. Candidates must also be willing to travel up to 60% of the time, including international. This is a long-term contract opportunity in the Lexington, KY area, slated to last 1+ year, and our client is only seeking local talent or candidates willing to relocate on their own at this time.

**Responsibilities for the Quality Technician**

+ Check equipment, parts and weld accuracy using scanners, laser trackers, and CMM equipment

+ Check part quality using hand tools and quality checking fixtures

+ Analyze part and sub-assembly data and provide feedback to project leaders

+ Support sheet-metal sub-assembly quality initiatives, and body build trials and activities during pre-production events

**Requirements for the Quality Technician**

+ 3+ years' of automotive quality experience

+ AS degree is preferred

+ Ability to use scanners, laser trackers, and CMM equipment

+ Experience using CAD other digital engineering software is preferred

+ Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, and weekends, holidays, off shift, overtime as needed
