Job Summary:
GLOBALFOUNDRIES is seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to become part of our research team in Albany, New York. This position is for a technical individual contributor within the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Technology Research Group at the Albany NanoTech facility in Albany, NY. The individual selected for this position will work together with GLOBALFOUNDRIES & partner engineers to conduct research in the area of advanced CMP processes and modules. This person will work closely with integration engineers both within GLOBALFOUNDRIES and within a multi-company alliance.  This person will frequently work in the fab, coordinating work with technicians and engineers to assure smooth movement of product.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Participate in joint development of CMP processes for 14nm technology and beyond.
 - Design, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize BEOL/MOL CMP processes and equipment to meet technology (e.g., performance, yield, and reliability) requirements
 - Work with integration and device groups to plan and execute projects and implement solutions on schedule.
 - Engage with tool suppliers to highlight new CMP process requirements and evaluate new equipment solutions.
 - Define and maintain CMP process and equipment roadmaps.
 - Transfer of technology to GLOBALFOUNDRIES' development facilities is a key aspect of this position
GLOBALFOUNDRIES.
Required Qualifications:
.  Bachelors degree with 4 years o experience, Masters degree with 2 years of experience or PhD with 1 year of experience
. Minimum of 3 years of semiconductor engineering experience, preferably related to CMP process R&D.
. Mastery of principles and working knowledge of various CMP processes and equipment
Preferred Qualification:
. MS / Ph.D. in Engineering or other Technical field
. Fluent in English Language - written & verbal
. Ability and willingness to travel outside of the US for extended business trips for training and technology transfer purposes for periods up to 3 weeks
. Able to work in a semiconductor manufacturing cleanroom environment
. Able to wear all required cleanroom protective clothing and equipment without restriction for up to 12 hour per day shift
. Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
. Ability to work well in a diverse, global team as a strong team player
