Job Description: Mechanical Procedure Writer
Summary:
Responsible for procedure preparation, maintenance, and reviews. Performs all aspects of procedure writing and development to ensure the procedures can be implemented without adversely affecting plant, personnel, or equipment safety. Reviews changes to procedures to ensure that the changes are technically accurate, applicable, and in conformance with regulatory requirements and site Writer''s Guides.
Responsibilities:
Provides technical leadership in the development, revision and maintenance of technical work practices, standards and procedures that support nuclear plant programs and may involve several disciplines. Performs editorial and technical reviews; Reviews and determines scope of change process packages; evaluates the feasibility of requested or proposed changes, and analyzes documents as to their applicability. Researches technical manuals, vendor specifications, plant diagrams, design documents, station policies and regulatory requirements as required to provide the procedure detail needed to ensure the safe operation of equipment.
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:
Background in Mechanical Maintenance field, Capable to evaluate work processes and make recommendations for efficiency improvements that produces overall benefit to the organization.
Manages own time to meet objectives, forecast and work plans. Typically has 5 to 15 years of experience in the Nuclear Industry. Candidate must be able to secure unescorted access to a nuclear facility and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
