Salary:
This full-time school year (88%) position is in pay schedule 13, pay range 04. Starting salary will be between $19.00 - $24.00 per hour (approximately $34,911 - $44,098/yr), plus excellent benefits. Additional compensation up to $2.97 per hour may be given for credits relevant to the position beyond a Bachelor''s degree. A six month probationary period will be required.

The Department of Public Instruction, Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI) is currently seeking applicants to fill two full-time school year (88%) Teacher -Visually Impaired positions. These positions are located at 1700 W State Street, Janesville.
The WCBVI operates a residential school for state residents ages three to twenty who are blind or have visual impairments. The school provides academic and career education on site. The school also offers instructional and technical assistance, teaching materials and evaluations of pupils to local school districts and other agencies. Job Duties:
These positions are responsible for providing classroom instruction for K-12 visually impaired students, many of whom have additional disabilities at the Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WCBVI), Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WSBVI).

Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Visual Disability (825) by the Department of Public Instruction is required. Questions regarding licensure may be directed to DPI licensing staff at 608-266-6794.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of appropriate teaching methods to use with students who have visual impairments; appropriate materials and adaptations necessary to teach students who have visual impairments; of state and federal guidelines for Individualized Education Program (IEP) assessment process; and exceptional education needs of children who have multiple handicaps. Ability to work cooperatively with parents, local school districts, and WCBVI staff on programs/problems associated with student needs and observe and carry out all school rules and policies.
