RockTenn has an opportunity for an Operations Manager at our facility in Augusta, GA. Augusta Recycle is a paper and plastic recycling facility committed to creating and increasing the RockTenn Recycling presence in Augusta and the surrounding areas. Our success is directly related to our efficiency. With that in mind, our Operations Manager has the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Manage employees to include schedules, training, productivity, and discipline when necessary.
Create and oversee the daily production schedule.
Address unplanned and scheduled maintenance issues.
Manage and solve maintenance issues as they arise.
Responsible for ensuring quality systems are in place and comply with customer specifications.
Manage production of customer product on a timely basis per schedule.
Oversee logistics for the shipping and receiving of raw materials.
Oversight of major projects
Oversight of plant purchases - production supplies - e-pro system
Environmental and Storm Water oversight
Maintain and create a strong safety culture
Oversee the organization of the work space and tools to increase efficiency.
Requirements:
3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
2+ years experience fostering a strong safety environment.
Experience utilizing your organization and planning skills in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and loaders
Maintenance experience and a strong mechanical aptitude
Willing to work the hours needed to complete daily tasks
Shipping and Receiving/Logistics experience a plus
OSHA training is a plus
Recycling experience a plus
Experience with Six Sigma & lean principles is a plus
