Nursing on this unit takes on a holistic approach to quality care. Using clinical pathways and patient education and communication as guides, all aspects of patient care are exceptionally addressed by a total team of professionals. These positive and progressive attitudes translate into easy collaborative consults with physicians and all other team members.
We have an active Unit Based Council (Shared Governance) that is a part of the success of this unit. McLaren Northern Michigan has won numerous HealthGrades awards for Joint Replacements, Orthopedics and Back Surgery, due in large measure to those team members who are providing care benchmarked to be in the top 5% in the nation for orthopedic care.
